Hey Friend,

The sign you've been looking for, you ask? In a round about way, YES! One thing I quickly learnt after diving head first into this Wedding and Events gig nearly five years ago was that not everyone had a Pinterest board ready to go from the second they got planning. In fact, it seems there's only a select few of us that do. For those that have no clue to start, South Society is on one hellova mission to help make wedding planning an easy, straightforward and enjoyable process. That's right, stress bunnies, enjoyable

By keeping what's most important at heart, you'll whip up the day you've always dreamed of in no time. Here's a few questions to get you started.

  1. When you take a moment to pause on your day, what do you want to look around and see?

  2. Describe your personal style? Think daily and special occasion fashion, home interiors etc

  3. What does your perfect weekend or date look like?

  4. What are colours, or colour combos you are drawn to? Avoid closing in on just wedding hues here

  5. When you think about weddings you have been to in the past, what are three amazing, and three not so amazing things that have stood out for you?

  6. Are there any family traditions or rituals you'd like to incorporate into the day, or ones you’d like to start?

  7. In terms of your reception dinner, what do you imagine happening? IE Grazing into the night, a picnic, formal plated meal, shared dishes, buffet style dinner, walk and fork

  8. Thinking about the different aspects of weddings, what areas do you want to splurge on a little more than others? This is great for budgeting purposes, but to help you start, most of my couples prioritise Photo & Video, Food & Beverage and solid Entertainment - And a celebrant, because there’s no wedding without one. There is no wrong answer here!

  9. What are your non-negotiable's and biggest concerns surrounding your day?

  10. If there were no limits, what are the cool, quirky and out of the ordinary things you’d like to see present at your wedding that reflect you as a couple?

Why don't you grab a drink, sit down with your other half and go through these one evening. It’s beneficial to write them down, and use the answers as a reference point if you feel like things are spiralling out of control. By the end of it, I'm certain you'll have a much clearer picture in your minds about what you want your wedding day to shape up like.

And please, if you get stuck let me know. My South Society wedding and event planning consultations offer a far more in-depth service where no stone is left unturned. I'd love to help you plan your dream day!

Until next,
