Giving new life, or a secondary purpose to any element of your wedding day (or special occasion) is always going to offer a feel-good factor as you make smarter decisions during the planning process to achieve maximum impact on your day. Let’s take a look at the options when it comes to flora, and get you working smarter - not harder!

1. Your first floral creations generally get their debut at your ceremony, but what to do afterwards? Give it a fresh perspective, of course!

Your ceremony backdrop could:

  • Double as a photo backdrop

  • Sit behind your DJ or band

  • Frame your head table / newlyweds seats

  • Act as an area for your MC / speeches / cake cutting other reception events

Aisle flowers and bouquets can:

  • Move to the bar

  • Accent any signature table, ie; dessert bar, guest book, card, wishing well area

  • Decorate any table or piece of signage around your venue

*I recommend that you give your florist vases to work with, especially for bouquets. Once you’re ready, you can give the stems a small snip and pop them in watered vases to maintain freshness and ensure their best chance of survival.

2. Offering for your guests to take home arrangements is a lovely gesture. Or, you could gift them to a retirement village, nursing home etc - Just check their policies first.

3. Think about whether dried or faux flora has a place in your day. They can make gorgeous arrangements throughout your home after the wedding, and act as an everlasting reminder of your day. Plus, they’re great for allergy sufferers!

4. Lastly, and the most long-term option - preserving your blooms is going to give new life to pieces of your day, keeping the memories living on. Here are some of our favourite options we think you’ll love too:

*I do recommend getting in touch with these businesses to place your order/enlist their services in advance of your wedding day.

I hope these little snippets of my favourite tips and tricks have helped you, and your budget!
